Pilgrimage: Prone to Wander | St. Francis Hall
September 9 @ 9:45 am - 11:00 am
An event every week that begins at 9:45am on Sunday, repeating until 09-30-2018
Pilgrimage is part of many of the world’s religions, including our own Christian faith. From the Latin word “pelegrinus”, which means “one who crosses fields”, a pilgrim is someone on a sacred journey, whether to perform an act of devotion, or to atone for sin, or to seek God in a holy place. The practice of pilgrimage draws us out of our familiar rounds to help us experience the wonder of God’s presence, an exterior journey that mirrors our interior journey of drawing nearer to God who dwells within us. This September, join pilgrims from St. Andrew’s Cathedral who have traveled to Israel, Ireland, and Iona as they share reflections, stories, and photographs and help us learn how pilgrimage can be a practice even if we can’t travel any further than our own backyards.
