DEAN’S FORUM: Why Religion?

Parish Hall

For years, the number of Americans who do not identify with any religion has been on the rise. Instead, people have chosen to orient their lives around any number of things, including science, psychology, or even football. The trends of these numbers then raises the questions: why would people choose faith in this day and time to orient their understanding of life? Why would people choose religion as a means to make sense of their lives? During the Lenten season, we will hear from a variety of speakers about how they have chosen to understand their lives, and work, through the lens of faith and religion.

* This series was inspired by Elaine Pagel’s new memoir Why Religion.
